Bending rock, ska, reggae, and new wave into their own strange shape for more than 20 years, Manganista continues the experiment, following up their previous 7" box set with the same genre-morphing premise.

“Talking to Myself” kicks things off with twitchy New Wave guitars, hyperactive synths, restless rhythms, and saxophone piled on top until there's barely room left to think. The song takes a look at the conversations happening inside our heads—and the people we pass every day who might be having conversations of their own.

Then something happens. The song changes. And changes again. Each of the two brand new Manganista songs on this record has been recorded in three distinct forms: Rock, Reggae, and Dub.

On the other side, “The Chosen One” takes aim at the daily grind, the weight of expectations, and the strange business of being told you're destined for something when you never asked to be chosen in the first place. Three versions take the song in three very different directions.
